The fact that I can quickly access the Maschine Plus independently of a computer, means that getting ideas down when 'inspiration strikes' is extremely appealing.įurthermore, I plan to acquire and develop an extensive Native Instruments Komplete sound library. In view of this, I am considering the Maschine Plus instead, due to it having its own processor along with 4GB RAM. This means that running into problems using Maschine MK3 is a high probability. However, I am currently limited to 16GB RAM and from my research so far, I understand that the Maschine MK3 is very demanding on the CPU. Its function as a sampler is of lesser importance to me at the moment, although I'm sure that will change in the near future. Consequently, I was initially set on the 61SL MK3 as a suitable upgrade.Īdditionally, due to needing a more practical controller to play drums and percussion (rather than using a keyboard), I am also considering Native Instruments Maschine MK3. I have been very happy with my Impulse 61. They both have semi weighted keys that are velocity sensitive with aftertouch, all of which are priorities for me. Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 I use Logic and I am in the process of starting to upgrade my studio.įirstly, I need a new midi keyboard - my Novation Impulse 61 is starting to show signs of degradation after some years of considerable use.
